The Performing Arts Association sponsors several annual art competitions throughout the year. Each competition is also a featured show in the PAA Front Gallery for that month.

Fall Juried Art Show
The annual Lighthouse Art competition is held in April. All PAA proceeds from this competition go directly to The Lighthouse Domestic Violence Shelter. The Lighthouse is a full service domestic violence program and rape crisis program serving victims in Baldwin County, AL and Escambia County, AL
Did you know?... Alabama has startling statistics when it comes to domestic violence cases. The state is second in the nation for women killed by men.
This annual competition is just one of many highlights during Art In The Park each Mother’s Day weekend. Proceeds from this event benefit the PAA directly and our mission to keep ART alive in our community through scholarships, open to public classes and our Cultural Enrichment Programs.
The 2011 competition theme was “Landscape and Flowers”. For 2012, we will open the competition to all subjects of photography. We feel this will allow for more photographers to showcase their work for our community. We will be posting updates as to categories and deadlines soon.
This show will benefit the PAA center in all we do in our community. Congratulations to Elizabeth Blaylock on her Best of Show win. Many artists, accomplished and beginners alike participated in this competition. We welcomed our judge Joan Blackburn of Pensacola, Fl.
