Barbara Grey

“A Day at the Beach”  by Barbara Grey

Barbara Grey hails from Peacham, Vermont, and winters in Gulf Shores, AL.  Her forte is the way she captures the sky.   One can almost feel the atmosphere when viewing her paintings. .  No matter what the day is, she sees a "glorious sky."  Barb, an exhibiting member, has works on display at the Foley AL Performing Art Center and the Orange Beach Art Center in Orange Beach, AL.  She has a Masters Degree in Art.   Grey didn’t begin painting until 1998 when she began her art career in the Tuscany region of Italy..  Barb Grey is a founding member of  “Monday Painters,” an exhibiting society of painters who work and show together in northern Vermont.   In addition to the above galleries, she is represented by galleries in Mobile and Fairhope, AL; Athens, GA and St. Johnsbury, VT.

Beach Notes IV by Joanne B. Hall

Joanne hails from Fayetteville, Arkansas.  She exhibits her work

 year round at The Prosperous Pelican-Gallery II in Orange

Beach, Al; Orange Beach Art Center, Foley Performing Art

Center in Foley, AL,  and her home gallery Highland Studio &

Gallery in Fayetteville, Arkansas.   The Halls winter  in Gulf

Shores at their  Alabama home.

 

Jo has been paining since college days, and teaching for ten

years. Her paintings reflect the quiet and serene sites of the

southwest and her home states of Arkansas and Alabama.

 

Joanne B. Hall is a Signature Member of Artists of Northwest Arkansas. She exhibits and has won awards in regional and local Arkansas competitions. Joann is also an exhibiting member of the Orange Beach Art Center.  She will teach at OBAC six Saturdays of plein air painting beginning January 23 and three weeks of beginning oil/still life in February.

Jan Polk

Home Away from Home” by Jan Polk

Jan Polk is a plein air impressionist oil painter who uses the impressionist techniques

of Monet which she learned in 2003 from Susan Sarback, Founder of the School of

Light and Color.  Monet never taught but he painted  with  his friend Charles

Hawthorn.  Hawthorn taught Henry Hensche.  Susan studied with Hensche.

 

Jan Polk is a Cincinnati, OH, artist currently residing in Southgate, KY, and is also

known as the Painter of The Great American Flower Collection (™),  the “respect

series” of fine art watercolor paintings.  She has been painting since 1988.and has

won awards for both her watercolor paintings and her oils.  Jan uses a pallet knife

and primary colors, no earth tones, to create her  high energy  paintings.

 

Jan is a Signature Member of the Cincinnati Art Club, a member of the Ohio Plein Air

Society, an exhibiting member of the Orange Beach Art Center and  Foley Performing

Art Center.

 

Polk is artist/co-publisher of “A Year of Good Manners” by Margery Sinclair and Jan Polk, $27.95.  This book is available at Foley Performing Art Center and the Orange Beach Art Center as well as from Jan’s website.
