Laura Clark Moody, known to most people as the Reference Librarian at the Gulf Shores Public Library. While many of her topics are familiar themes (sea birds & the beach), her favorite subjects are finding mundane objects that tell a story, such as humanistic fence posts, trees with showing human form. Her digital photographs are typically unfiltered, although she does enjoy using enhancing effects on some of her work.

Coming from a family of artists, she will also be presenting at her first exhibit the fusion of ancient craft with modern technology in some collaborative works that she and her sister, former Mobile native Lisette Root, have designed. Using Mrs. Moody's original photography and specialized computer software, Mrs. Root has hand crafted two photomosaic quilts, with each quilt consisting of 1,850 one inch squares that, when pieced together, are a mosaic image of the photograph. One wall of the exhibit will be a showing of three photographs with matching quilts.
